BICYCLE TOURS OF THE COUNTS OF ARCO
An itinerary for discovering the residences of the Counts of Arco, a noble family from Mantua who were at their height between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries. The starting point is the city palace, built in 1784 and the following years by the neoclassical architect Antonio Colonna.
A treasure trove of art and culture, it is fully furnished as in the times of the noble family’s last descendant, Giovanna dei Conti d’Arco. The end location is their elegant summer residence, nestled in the small romantic woods of Bertone Park, home to the tallest Ginkgo Biloba in Italy and various specimens of exotic plants, on which storks build their nests, as well as the Mincio Park Visitor Centre.
